So key the point about homework and chores. I often talk with parents(I am a teacher/administrator) who say that their child has to sit down immediately and get their homework done before they can play. No. They have been working all day, their bodies need to move, their brains need to...do whatever they do. Homework will just be a fight, and that fight will defeat the purpose.
Former pre-K teacher and teacher trainer here too 😃 and love this whole thing (although as a former teacher I do love a back to school chocolate treat for teachers, and I think it’s ok to do a teacher celebrating treat and also ok not to, no shame there 🙏). This is exactly what’s been helping my 3 little guys, especially love the note about not having to share and embracing solo independent time. Thank you for this tremendous parent resource.
